"All quotes are meaningless."
In
many ways we have degraded to a soundbite culture dominated by hype and
mediocrity. For design to be meaningful and consequently effectual it
must be more than empty facade and decoration. A useful way of being effective
is learning to understand and appreciate people and their situations.
One of the most personally rewarding aspects of design is the knowledge
I've gained while researching for projects. Having insight into what makes
people tick makes for good design and goes in hand with making the user,
audience, or potential clientele my primary focus. It's the difference
between doing what you love and saying "I just work here." You
can rest assured that I certainly do what I love.
Having such
a confidence strengthens the sense of purpose and connection between designer
and client. It helps me to better understand you and it makes you part
of the creative process. Good, solid design from input by all parties
means everybody wins.
